History Of Broadland House

Broadland House vets in Stalham has been a veterinary surgery for more than 45 years. It was first owned by John Millar in the late 70's called 'J.A Miller Veterinary Surgeon', and to start with was a mixed animal practice, treating both farm animals and companion animals.

In 1983 Peter Dobromylskj started work alongside John and then in 1987 Peter became a partner. John retired in 1991 and in 1992 Sarah Lloyd, Peter's Wife, joined the partnership. Sarah became the principal in 2006 when Peter moved on from the practice and Hilary who had been locuming at the time, became a Veterinary Assistant.

In 2008 Hilary joined the partnership alongside Sarah and became the principal in April 2011 when Sarah moved on from Broadland House.

RCVSThe surgery is an RCVS accredited small animal practice which means we are regularly inspected by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

I became the owner and practice principal of Broadland House Vets in 2011. After qualifying as a Veterinary Surgeon in 1992 I went on to receive my bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Pathological Science and a Certificate in Cardiology. At home I have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a husband to look after. I love gardening and baking and regularly enter gardening competitions with my home-grown vegetables.

Sarah Hellewell- Practice administrator

As a long time, animal lover and an uncle as a Vet, I came to the practice nearly 8 years ago to ‘Help’ Hilary and I am still here. At present I have a 9-year-old Whippet, and a ‘Rescue’ Dachshund who is a toothless, 12-year-old ex-puppy farm bitch I ‘accidently’ adopted after visiting a local rescue centre with some donations! I love to go for long walks with friends and other dogs at weekends. The dachshund is not so keen on this walking lark!
